2/1/05 Meeting at the Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church's Grace Avenue campus. Everyone is invited to show their opinion of the project.
UPDATE: The meeting was a tremendous success with over 200 Hyde Park residents attending to ask questions and show their concern over the proposed expansion plans.

2/8/05 The Hyde Park Neighborhood Council ,at their regularly scheduled Monthly meeting, considered the proposal from The Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church(HPCUMC) for expansion plans for the Grace Avenue campus and the former monastery site. Approximately 30 neighbors were present at the meeting. With the exception of supportive comments from the daughter of the family selling the 2 properties to be demolished for parking, all comments to the Council were strongly against the proposal. After discussion, the Council voted 7-0( with 3 abstentions) to oppose the plan for both the acquisiton and destruction of houses for the Grace Campus and the construction of the multi-purpose building/social and dining facitilty/gym on the site of the former monastery on Erie Ave. in the absence of meaningful future dialog between HPCUMC and its neighbors.

4/26/05 The "Big Meeting", at Clark-Montessori School, Preserve Hyde Park is held an informational meeting regarding the church's expansion plans. We would like to thank the concerned citizens of Hyde Park for their incredible attendance and concern regarding the proposed expansion plans.
